Colorado, also known as the Rocky Mountain State, where the mountains and the views from atop are the main attraction. Boulder, one of the hipster cities in the state, is a great experience for many things, such as people watching, shopping and fine dining. Many street performers performing on the corners of downtown Boulder are a local favorite.
Located just 30 miles northwest of Denver, Boulder is a beautiful town where you will find many things to do for adults and children. To get a great sense of what Boulder is all about, I’d recommend taking the guided tour from Boulder Walking Tours or Banjo Billy’s Bus Tour. There’s many ancient cultural attractions in the town. Many of these you can find right at the Pearl Street Mall. This mall is an outdoor walking mall which is the hub for most of the city’s best restaurants and shopping. Musicians and performers fill the streets with festive flair. You will also find breweries, old book stores and art stores where the art is made from local artists.
Hiking in Boulder is absolutely fantastic. The air is so clean and crisp and the views are breathtaking, not to mention a great workout! The Flatirons are a perfect option for hiking as well as the Flagstaff Mountains. Both are located near Boulder. There’s something about the mountains that is so peaceful. I grew up in the city and I’m a city girl at heart but I feel so relaxed when I’m at the top of a mountain and looking out at the gorgeous views.
Colorado is famously known for its grass-fed bison steaks. I’d recommend getting the best from Steak House No. 316, located right in downtown Boulder. Salt is also an option for a great meal, located right on Pearl Street. Want a nightcap? Walk over to the swanky bar, T-Zero Lounge. Their drinks are mostly made from local liquor and the signature martinis are great! Live music is typically in the lobby of this beautiful hotel.
For a great stay, I’d recommend staying at The Bradley or St. Julien Hotel and Spa. They are both great choices that are centrally located for all fun activities in the area.
I hope you enjoy Boulder as much as I did!
