Baltimore is a charming town. It’s not called “Charm City” for nothing! There’s many towns within the city. Fells Point, Federal Hill and Harbor East are just a few of the towns within the city that all have their own unique styles and offerings of city skyline views, restaurants, live music, romantic date nights and fun things for kids to do.
The Inner Harbor is where you will find some of the best seafood restaurants that the east coast has to offer with beautiful water views all along the harbor, especially in the spring and summer months. These months are the most popular times to visit.
In the summer months, there is paddle boats that you can rent and go out on the harbor to enjoy and explore. Tour boat rides are available as well for you to take and learn about the history of this charming town. The National Aquarium also sits right along the harbor and is one of the best aquariums to visit.
The Original Washington Monument is right in the heart of Baltimore. Go check it out! It’s interesting to learn all about the history of it and how it came to be! Be sure to tour Fort McHenry. This tour gives you a great overview of many historical moments. Located just 3 miles from the Inner Harbor, you will find this tour worthwhile. You can also take a water taxi over too. The tour will take you about 2 hours. Catch live music during the summer months at Pier Six Pavilion. The bands are all great and it’s fun for all ages!
Looking for something that is a fun date night? Take a dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Baltimore. While listening to the DJ they have on board, you will be taking in the view of the Inner Harbor attractions. Fells Point is also another great option for a fun night out on the town. Fells Point is lined with many bars, restaurants and live bands playing. It’s very lively on the weekends and it’s guaranteed a good time. The Four Seasons Hotel is home to the swanky club/bar,Bygone. This bar is located on the 29th Floor of the hotel and has amazing views of the city of Baltimore. They always have a great DJ and there’s a great whiskey bar on the second level. It’s an upscale bar so dress to impress!
There are many great restaurants in Baltimore, but some of the best in town are Thames Street Oyster House, located in Fells Point, is an amazing seafood restaurant. Once you’re done your meal, walk around and catch some live music. Tagliata is an amazing contemporary Italian steakhouse. After dinner, take a walk down the alley way into The Elk Room. The Elk Room is a speakeasy that is dimly lit and serves some amazing cocktails served to you by true mixologists. Mamas On A Half Shell is another great choice. It is a very kid friendly, casual seafood restaurant. The meals are great and the oysters are some of the best! Bar Vasquez is an Argentinian steakhouse that does not disappoint! Enjoy some of the best wines or cocktails while listening to live music. Expect nothing but the best at this fine dining experience. Baltimore is known for the best steamed crabs. I’d recommend getting the best crabs from Bo Brooks Restaurant or Nick’s Fish House. Crabs are seasonal in the Northeast so the best time to get them would be between July-October.
If you’re looking for upscale hotel accommodations, I’d recommend staying at The Four Seasons Hotel. It’s conveniently located to everything I’ve mentioned, most restaurants are walking distance and a few tours are a quick taxi ride away. The Hilton Garden Inn is a more budget friendly hotel, located directly across from The Four Seasons. Both are great options.
I hope you enjoy all Baltimore has to offer!
